When I turned one year old (many moons ago) my parents gave me a rocking chair for my first birthday. I have held onto this chair all this time and as I got older I wanted to pass it down to my daughter. Well three boys later I was wondering if I would ever have a girl to pass it to… last August we were blessed with our only daughter. I love me boys but there is nothing like having a little girl in the house! Her first birthday just passed a week ago and this summer my husband and I have been working on refurbishing my old rocking chair to give to our precious princess for her birthday. Summer means lots of play time outside! One of my boys’ favorite activities to do is to paint and what better fun then painting up the sidewalk. We made homemade sidewalk paints. This past May my baby sister got married and this crafty mama was excited to help out in any way I could! I offered to make her a card box. Now some of these boxes you can find on Etsy going for $75 dollars if not more, I saw some up to $200!!! Seriously I couldn’t believe how expensive they were so I set out to make her one and did it for under $20! Yay!
For this Father’s Day I search the depths of Pinterest to find the perfect craft for the kiddos and I to make. I came across several different crafts using the kids handprints so I decided to use my love of decoupage and make a canvas picture for Dad this year!
