MFW-K… Mm is for Moon

Moon Cover_edited-1We have finished our second unit of My Father’s World A to Z of God’s Creation. We had lots of fun studying the moon, rocket ships, the letter M, and how we can be a light of the world.

Practice Writing

For science we studied the moon. We had lots of fun learning about the moon phases, we used Oreo cookies to show the different moon phases. The kids (and hubby) had so much fun  with this activity, mostly at the end when they ate the cookies. For this activity all you need is Oreo cookies, or similar creme filled cookie. We used Kroger brand. You will use  cookie for both the full and new moons. Separate cookies and shape the creme filling to make the different phases.

I created this form that you can use for you Phases of the Moon Oreo Activity

We also made a rocket ship to travel to the moon. We use a paper towel roll and covered it with foil. We used construction paper to for the base and fire coming out the bottom.

That was our moon walk… how was yours?

Many Blessings!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 15:14-16

  1. We just wrapped up this unit today. I wanted to say “thank you” for sharing your rocket — we almost skipped this project, but you made it possible by posting your creativity.

Sweet blessings on your weeks ahead. I know that we are really enjoying our school days at home.
