What’s In the Box – MFW AHL

My oldest is starting 9th grade this fall…. HIGH SCHOOL, yikes where does the time go! This is our first year that we will be using My Father’s World Ancient History and Literature (You can read more about this year curriculum choice here) and we are so excited (maybe me more than my son). I love MFW for so many different reasons,  its bible based curriculum to be a top contender but this year it focuses on teaching our young man to become more independent and responsible for his own work. I am hoping that this will be an easy transition as he has been pretty independent last year but at the same time he often needs a little nudging. My only concern is the amount of reading is a lot more than the previous year and my son does not like to read (I hope that changes as time goes on because this mama loves to read). This post will go over how I organized this year’s curriculum.

I purchased a binder from Staples to organize all of the materials and divided the subjects with dividers with pockets.  The pockets allow me to add materials that are not hole punch like the Student Bible Atlas or our MFW Biology and Rosetta Stone Lesson plans.

Next I purchased these drawers from Target to hold the rest of the lessons plans, and other materials needed (i.e. ruler, compass, protractor, DVDs, etc) I have another set of drawers next to this one that holds all of my teacher books and supplies. I am thinking of purchasing a third one to hold papers (lined, unlined, and construction)

Lastly, I organized all of our books on our bookcase for easy access. You’ll notice that we also have our kindergarten’s books on there as well.

That’s how we have our MFW AHL curriculm organized for this upcoming school year. How do you organize your curriculum?
