It has been one month since I started my Trim Healthy Mama journey. There has been lots stumbles and learning along the way (and lots more to go) but I am happy to be on this journey. To be honest, there is SO much information to take in, it can be very overwhelming, I am not sure if I would have been so successful if it was not for the help of all my THM sisters on my facebook group. Following these bunch of wonderful ladies you quickly start to learn the ropes. Any advice I can offer for newbies, is to stick it out, reference The Building Blocks, have your book on hand at all times and ASK, any questions you have.. ask the ladies on Facebook or in the Forum. Someone will help guide you!
The first weeks were not as hard as I thought when it came to cutting out sugar but there was some obstacles… Detox! I had about 2 weeks of detoxing, which consisted mainly of headaches from the sugar withdrawals. Drink lots and lots of water or Good Girl Moonshine (GGMS) to help ease the detoxing. I also noticed that I had more acne at this time and I think it was from detoxing as it has gone away since then. Once I got over the detox, I noticed how my energy level has increased. Here’s a little background into my daily routine, you see I work a part-time job at night where I don’t get home and into bed until after midnight, with four kids I then turn around and get up around 8:30 in the morning. If for any reason I work late that results in me getting home later and going to bed later which then results in less sleep. Less sleep usually follows with headaches all day long. The first time I had to work late and woke up my normal time, I noticed how I did not have a single headache ALL day long, nothing! I give this credit to THM! This would be my first non-scale victory (NSV)!
Now for the numbers because frankly that’s what we all want to know! Okay, I admit it I am obsessed with the scale, I weigh myself several times a week! But honestly I feel that it helps keep me motivated. First let me explain that prior to THM, I could not lose a single pound since my baby was born nine months earlier so I am so excited to lose any since at one time in the not so distance past it seemed impossible. In a month I have lost a total of 10 lbs… yes that’s correct TEN pounds since starting and a loss of 8 inches (which 3 are from my waist). This is just the first month! Woo Hoo!
I couldn’t be happier with the results and look forward to what updates I will have next month!
