Summer means lots of play time outside! One of my boys’ favorite activities to do is to paint and what better fun then painting up the sidewalk. We made homemade sidewalk paints. It was a huge success and it’s super EASY to make! Woo Hoo! Only three common household ingredients are needed, Corn Starch, Water, and Food Coloring. So simple.
Gather all you materials: 1 cup corn starch, 1 cup water, food coloring, muffin pan
You need to mix equal parts of corn starch and water, I used 1 c of corn starch and placed in a mixing bowl. Added 1 c of water and mixed thoroughly.
Then we poured our mixture into a muffin pan.
Then you want to place 3-6 drops of food coloring into each of the different trays, color will be lighter on the sidewalk then what it looks like in the pan. Mix it up by adding two different primary colors to get a new color. Use any old paint brush (my boys used sponge brushes) and paint a masterpiece outside. It washes off easily with the hose or rain.
